Josh Hamilton, DNP, APRN, BC, CNE, FAANP: Hello everyone. My name is Josh Hamilton. I'm a doctor of nursing practice, a family nurse practitioner, and a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I'm also Chief Clinical Officer at the Hamilton Group, Behavioral Health in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I'm looking forward to our 2024 Practical Updates in Primary Care series. This year my partner, Dr. Manish Jha, and I will be discussing mental health, particularly as it relates to precision medicine in the treatment of major depressive disorder.

We hope to give you a little bit of updated information and ways to conceptualize mental illness in the context of genetics and neurobiology and biomarkers and some of the newer research that's going on to inform some newer approaches to contemporize your skill set in the management of major depression specifically. So, we hope to give you some tools and techniques in that regard. including concepts that have to do with pharmacogenomics and some of the biomarker research and inflammation, just fascinating research that's going on currently.

So if you'll join our session, we really hope you'll gain a better understanding of the importance of mental health in the primary care setting. So join us for Digging Deeper: Mental Health Part 2 at this year's PUPC 2024. We look forward to seeing you there.
